The Gatscher farm dairy (Gatscherhof) was founded in 2005. Farmer Josef specialises in producing cheese, yoghurt and butter. The range also includes speciality cheeses such as juniper cheese and Graukäse (grey cheese). The dairy has already received several awards for its specialities. The electricity required is generated directly on the farm, while by-products from the nearby mountain pine oil distillery are used for heating.
As part of the weekly activity programme organised by the Kiens/Chienes Tourist Association, a guided farm tour is offered once a week, including a tasting and the preparation of fresh cheese.
