The Cultural Landscape Hike
This enjoyable landscape hike leads through the narrow gorge of the Grünbach up to Schöneck Castle, which proudly stands on a rocky outcrop. Not far from there stands a very rare "egg spruce," declared a natural monument and rising slenderly into the sky. From the castle hill, you follow a former pilgrimage route to the Gothic chapel of Haselried. In earlier times, there was said to be a spring sanctuary here, offering pilgrims help with eye ailments. From the town center, you walk past the sports area and then follow the hiking trail towards Irenberg and Issinger Weiher. This idyllic small lake is a true natural paradise. Just behind it lies the Bergila herb garden, a special gem. On the last section of this charming nature hike, you will find the mountain pine oil distillery and as a reward, a cool, fragrant resting place by the Grünbach. Refreshments: Gasthof Schöneck, Seegasthaus Issinger Weiher, Gasthof Irenberg.
