On the way to the marmots
Explore the world of marmots on our alpine pastures and let Merlin, the „Bear“, tell you about the life of his marmot family.
The adventure trail runs past the managed Moarhofalm, up the forest road towards the upper Grünbachalm, and the last section on the well-marked hiking trail to the Grünbachsee.
The hiking trail is stroller-friendly up to the Moarhofalm.
Except for some possible shortcuts, it is the same way back.
A varied family hiking trail, in winter with sledding possibility at your own risk.
The Marmot Trail in Hofern is also easily accessible by public transport. In the summer season, the Hiking Bus Line 426 runs from St. Sigmund, Ehrenburg, Kiens and Hofern to the parking lot Gelenke, the starting point of the hike.
Additionally, the Village Bus Line 423 operates between Ehrenburg, Kiens and Hofern up to the Sonnenstraße. Further bus connections exist with lines 423 and 421, connecting Vintl, Terenten, Hofern, Pfalzen and Bruneck.
This makes the starting point of the Marmot Trail easily and environmentally friendly accessible. ️
