The Kiens/Chienes– Ehrenburg/Casteldarne – Ilstern – Kiens/Chienes running route combines sporting activity with varied natural and cultural experiences. The route follows the valley floor of the Puster Valley and is ideal for those who want to stay active while exploring the beautiful surroundings of Kiens/Chienes.

Starting in the centre of Kiens/Chienes, the route initially follows the historic Roman Trail towards Ehrenburg. Running through meadows and woodland sections, it reaches the village of Ehrenburg/Casteldarne with its historic centre. From there, the route continues to the famous Roman milestone, one of the best-preserved Roman milestones in South Tyrol.

The course then continues to the Puster Valley cycle path. Here, runners turn left and follow the cycle path towards Ilstern. This section offers ideal conditions for maintaining a steady pace and provides attractive views of the surrounding landscape.

From Ilstern, the route leads back to Kiens/Chienes. The combination of historic landmarks, nature-based trails and sporting activity makes this circuit an appealing running route for both beginners and experienced runners.
